How do the FIR filter coefficients get from FIRmaker into the DSP?
Since the implementation of FIRmaker will be done individually for each loudspeaker system and in close partnership with each loudspeaker manufacturer, the DSP controller platform/software will need to integrate closely with FIRmaker as well. Different levels of integration are possible, depending on the loudspeaker systems in use and the degree of usability manufacturers want to present to their users:
- FIRmaker can export a set of filter files. These can then be imported into the DSP controller software either manually or by an automated process. They are written into the DSP from there, after final checks have been applied.
- The user can make sure to have matching system setups both in the DSP controller software as well as in AFMG's software powering FIRmaker. FIRmaker can then send FIR filter sets directly to the corresponding channels in the DSP controller software. They are written into the DSP from there, after final checks have been applied.
- The user designs the system configuration within AFMG's software powering FIRmaker. FIRmaker can connect directly to the DSP controller software and transfer the setup of the loudspeaker system into the controller software. The generated FIR filter sets can then be sent directly from FIRmaker to the corresponding channels in the DSP controller software. They are written into the DSP from there, after final checks have been applied.
- It would also be possible for FIRmaker to read the system setup designed by the user in the DSP controller platform and use this as a basis for optimization. The generated FIR filter sets can then be sent directly from FIRmaker to the corresponding channels in the DSP controller software. They are written into the DSP from there, after final checks have been applied.
