AFMG at AES 2024

We are proud to announce our active participation in the upcoming AES New York 2024 show. This premier audio engineering event will take place from October 8th to 10th at the Javits Center in New York City, and we're eager to connect with industry professionals and contribute to the exchange of knowledge and ideas.

This year, we will be deeply involved in the AES technical program, offering attendees valuable insights into the latest acoustic modeling and design advancements. Our very own Dr. Stefan Feistel will be presenting two in-depth papers that delve into critical aspects of acoustic design:

  • "Acoustic Modeling and Designing of Emergency Sound Systems in Road Tunnels": This presentation will explore the unique challenges of designing effective emergency sound systems for road tunnels, where complex acoustic conditions and stringent safety requirements demand specialized expertise. Stefan and his co-author Tim Kuschel will share insights into best practices for acoustic modeling and system design in these challenging environments. The accuracy of speech intelligibility predictions using EASE 5 as the design tool of choice will be highlighted.

  • "Sound Immission Modeling of Open-Air Sound Systems": As open-air events and venues become increasingly prevalent, understanding the impact of sound systems on the surrounding environment is crucial. In this paper, Stefan Feistel as part of a team of researchers from several renowned German companies will address the complexities of sound emission modeling for open-air sound systems, providing valuable guidance for minimizing noise pollution and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. The presentation will also cover the data exchange between electro-acoustic modeling software like EASE or EASE Focus and environmental noise software like Wölfel’s IMMI and the accuracy of the resulting predictions.

  • In addition to these insightful presentations, we will also be participating in the panel of a dedicated workshop on "Acoustical Simulation and Calculation Techniques for Small Spaces." This interactive session headed by WSDG’s acoustics expert Dirk Noy will introduce the nuances of acoustic design for compact environments, exploring the latest simulation techniques and calculation methods. Participants will gain valuable knowledge and practical skills applicable to a wide range of applications, from recording studios and home theaters to small performance venues and conference rooms.

We believe our contributions to the AES technical program will be of great interest to engineers, sound system designers, consultants, and other professionals seeking to expand their understanding of acoustic principles and enhance their design capabilities. We invite all attendees to join us for these informative sessions and engage in discussions with our team.
