AFMG Navigated 2020 Well, Sets Course for 2021
The Covid-19 pandemic has affected our industry badly in many ways. Restrictions, especially in the events and entertainment sectors, still remain in place. At AFMG® we are doing our best to be a reliable partner during these difficult times. We continue to work hard on advancing our services and software solutions for our customers worldwide.
As AFMG’s work approach is strongly team-based, the pandemic forced us to adapt and restructure our daily routine to keep up creativity and efficiency in times of home office and home schooling. Now we are glad that despite severe limitations we have succeeded in pursuing our goals for 2020 with a clear focus. Our areas of activity included in particular:
-
The Early Adopter version of EASE® 5 has progressed substantially. Thanks to the feedback of the participants in the Early Adopter Program various new features were added and software workflows have been improved.
-
The next generation of the well-known loudspeaker DLL interface has advanced measurably by the release of a significantly extended version of the Plug-In API for GLLs. By embedding customized features into loudspeaker GLLs, more realistic control and simulation can be achieved.
-
In cooperation with our training partners worldwide, seminars and workshops have been successfully converted to online formats.
In addition to the above, we have been able to use the past months to consolidate and optimize our internal processes and tools. These changes freed up resources and will give us a good basis to work more efficiently on future tasks.
We are also pleased to report further positive news about our staff. Besides Silke Boegelein, who joined the technical support team 9 months ago, we are very glad to welcome Camilo Ocampo as a new member of our development team as of October 1st.
A native of both Colombia and the US, Camilo studied applied computer science in Berlin, Germany and completed his degree with excellent grades. Having worked for more than 4 years at a pro music store, he also brings substantial practical audio experience to the company. The fact that Camilo has a background in both liberal arts and sciences makes him particularly sensitive to user needs while also enabling him to develop software at the high standards required by AFMG.
“I'm happy to contribute to products that have such high-quality standards. The fact that AFMG practices test-driven software development is of particular interest to me, as it helps me improve my ability to write cleaner, more modularized, and extensible code – while still in the context of audio and acoustics.”
Despite the circumstances, we are optimistic about the New Year and the tasks ahead of us. We are quite sure that 2021 will bring relief to our industry and we can all return to normal business step by step. To facilitate this process and to assist our customers wherever possible, AFMG will be providing special offerings in order to support business development, education, and investments also during the pandemic.
Please subscribe to our company newsletter to receive news about these offers and also about ongoing developments at AFMG.
