Peek Frequency Response with Probe
When I am peeking around in the Mapping or Eyes module and use the Probe function to look closer at the frequency response it always switches back to the reflectogram view.
To solve that, go to Probe Options via F9 or File/Options and select "Previous Graph" under "Default Graph" on the "General" page.
Mirror Image Calculation without Results?
I built a very simple shoebox with a Loudspeaker and some Listener Seats. Then I ran the Mirror Imaging in EASE Rays. Although I had chosen 5 for the order, after invoking the Probe I could only see the direct sound impacts. Where are the reflections?
If there are no reflections visible in the reflectorgram, you should check two things:
Receiver Angles in Probe
I found some strange checkmarks in the Options Window, namely "Hor Turn Seats" and "Ver Turn Seats". Turning it on or off does not seem to affect the rendered view. What does this option mean?
Lake Convolver not convolving?
When I convolve my FIR filter file with a wav file as the source and play it thru my speakers, the EARS convolver gives me what I would expect, and the Lake sounds like just the source (input) wav file.
Switch on [x] Convolve in the FIR Filter Frame. If off, Lake works as player. The EARS convolver sets this switch itself. Does the peak level indicator go to color? If not, you are in play mode
Lake Convolver Peak Gain
Using the Lake Convolver: if a .BIR filter is added, the 'Peak Gain' button does not adjust the 'Gain [dB]' until after the filter has been installed and playback has been started.
Lake Convolver in the Background
The audio playback using the Lake Convolver is muted whenever the focus changes to another window. It returns when the focus is returned to the convolver DB.
Yes, the Lake convolver strictly needs an open and active window. You can relax the problem with 'Ears/Utilities/Auto Foreground' on. Then EARS pulls back the focus automatically after you have clicked somewhere else.
Menu Items "Keep to Auralize" and "Keep as Start Default"
What are the menu options 'Keep to Auralize' and 'Keep as Start Default' under Ears/Utilities used for?
Level and Delay for Mixing Files
I have produced different WAV files by the Lake convolver for further processing with the Ears WAV Mixer. How can I get their proper SPL and delay values?
The Lake convolver is designed for real-time listening. For manipulation of convolved signals we recommend the use of the EARS convolver. It automatically produces WAV files with proper level and delay information.
When is it recommended to use the EARS module to perform auralization?
The EARS module is a post-processing program that adds the ability to perform auralizations of a room, allowing you to hear how it will sound with the best approximation available in the market.
